Passion Of Latin Dancing

By Bundaberg Today

The Bargara Surf Club came alive on Saturday 18 January when Bargara Latin Dancing Hub hosted their launch event Seaside Social, giving guests the chance to dress up, meet new people and experience the joy of Latin dancing.

Bargara Latin Dancing’s Andrea Corbucci said Bargara Latin Dancing started as an idea between good friends who just wanted to dance more.

“We saw that there was a gap in Bargara and Bundaberg social scene for fancier events where guests can dress up, have a nice drink, eat some good food and feel good about themselves”, he said.

“We were missing it, so we started to organise it ourselves.”

Bargara Latin Dancing is an umbrella for all things Latin dancing in the Bundaberg region, providing people easy access on where to find information, classes and events.

“We will also organise more events to get together, socialise and dance as we have talented leaders in the team to teach and encourage newcomers and we’re keen to have more opportunities ourselves to improve our skills.”

“The Seaside Social was the perfect event to bring people of all ages together.

“We had great dancers of all varieties of ages coming together on the dance floor.

“It really shows that there is no right age when it comes to dancing or just having a great night together.”

Andrea shared that the response was overwhelmingly positive with guests commenting on how they loved the vibrant atmosphere, delicious appetizers, drinks and the overall energy.

For many, it was the first experience of this type of event and by the end of the night, they were already asking when the next one will be.

“The dance floor was alive all night.

“With a help of a warm up at the beginning of the night, a little workshop to learn some basic steps or a more advanced combo for the more experienced, we got the whole crowd going.

“We put a lot of thought into the music we played that night and it really worked.

“Add to that, we had passionate dancers Tamara and Andrea from our team at Bargara Latin Dancing teaching an advanced combo for the more experienced dancers and Jess from Baylando Latin Fusion to lead a warm up and a beginner class teaching some basic steps.

“It was great to see everyone getting involved and later show those moves off on the dance floor.”

All information about upcoming events, classes and more is on the Bargara Latin Dancing website bargaralatindancing.com and also active on social media under Bargara Latin Dancing, encouraging other dancers and organisers to get in touch as well as they can help to promote their events in the hub.

“The next event is already booked in and we will be sharing the details very soon on our website and socials.

“It will definitely be different to what we had, yet led by great music, atmosphere and a touch of surprise.”
